About

Nikita Agarwal

A hobby that grew up to become a passion. I am a self-trained and self-taught artist who started her journey in the year 2020 during covid and has not looked back since then.

For me, art is a form of expression and a let out for my emotions. I have mastered the art of various forms of media as of today. I believe that art is a reflection of who you are and what you believe. My boundless love for nature and a keen eye for capturing details with style is evident in the majority of my works.

Childhood memories, cartoon magazines, musical instruments and travels have been my biggest source of inspiration. Through the years my art has evolved, from small canvases to murals and large size paintings, I do it all and customize on request.

Born and brought up in Raipur, I currently work and live in Kolkata with my husband, two kids and lots of brushes!

My Creative Process

I start with sketching on paper and once I’m convinced of my vision I move on to the canvas. I enjoy working with different colour palettes to bring the artwork to life. However, creativity is something that can hit you at any point of time and when that happens, I like to follow my artistic instincts and manoeuvre the final output on canvas.

For instance, while painting a sunset, I visualize and capture the different hues when the sun sets, I see how the different colours of the sky merge and bring them to life on canvas. So, two paintings of mine can never be the same as each are deeply inspired by what I see in and around my surroundings in that current moment!

When you’ve got a good imagination, anything is possible. When the world is your canvas, you can’t help but feel the urge to paint something beautiful.

Painters share a bond with their canvas.

It’s not just a surface to paint on, it’s a part of them.
